Here at Painted Dreams Ranch, disposition and ground manners are the first considerations. Our theory is that you will spend a lot more time on the ground with a horse than you ever will in the saddle - manners is everything! We extensively handle our foals from the time they are born and teach them to respect. We expose them to various objects and situations. After disposition, we consider the overall build of the horse, including straight legs, strong well-shaped hoofs, good muscle, and correct teeth. We then look at the bloodlines and seek those that are proven to produce versatile, sensible, easy to train horses.
Since we do specialize in buckskins, palominos, and smokey blacks, color is a consideration, as well as nicely marked paints!
